Adriana Lima is one of the world’s most beautiful women, she is a top super model and an Actress. She is best known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Her career began in New York at a young age. However, it was her appearance in several Guess campaigns that gained her the recognition that catapulted her to status as one of the world’s top fashion models. She is by all accounts one of the most beautiful women the world has seen.

Early Life

At the age of Six months her father Nelson Torres left and she was raised by her mother, Maria das Graças Lima, in the outskirts of Salvador, in the neighborhood of Castelo Branco.

She was discovered at the age of 13 when she was shopping at a local shopping mall. At age 15 she won the ‘Ford Supermodel of Brazil’ contest.

This competition is considered one the worlds most prestigious contests in the fashion industry. She received an invitation to a week’s work in New York. She then moved to the world’s most energetic and fashion-driven city, New York, and was signed to Elite Model Management soon after.

Her first time appearance with Victoria’s Secret catalog shoot at age 18 @ the French Riviera location 1999. Adriana talks about how it all started with Victoria’s Secret. How she was very camera shy and did not care to be photographed. Until her friends encouraged and told her how beautiful she was. So she took the advice and thru a friend who knew somebody at the modeling agency she started her career.

She started with jobs immediately including the Spring 1999 BEBE campaign. She tells how she worked for Vogue magazine Mademoiselle etc. Once she started with Victoria Secret she never looked back. With her emerald green eyes and exotic mix of Portuguese, Indian and Afro-Brazilian heritage she moved to New York to start her modeling career with the Elite Modeling Agency.

She first became a Victoria Secret Angel in 1999. In 2000 she received the distinction of being considered the Victoria’s Secret Perfect 10. Around that time Guess, Maybelline, Donna Karan, Miu Miu and Loewe all booked the model for jobs. Since that time she has never looked back and continues to walk the celebrated lingerie line’s shows.

Modeling Career
